For the Love of Music is a new regular event of friendly listening concerts that will take place at some of the many beautiful places in Malton and the surrounding Ryedale area that are so perfectly suited to the sound of unplugged acoustic instruments and voices. Each monthly gathering hopes to showcase original and traditional live music acts in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
We hope that you will support this new local music club that has been created for the love of music, and hopes to provide an intimate setting for lesser-known artists – especially those who play their own original compositions, for audiences who love to hear something that they haven’t heard before, and who love to listen to instruments being played in an acoustic setting and allowing the music to lead their senses for a unique experience.
The opening night is a free concert that takes place on Friday the 26th of June at the 200-year-old Friends Meeting House building on Greengate in Malton. The grade II listed Meeting house still has many of its original features and with its soaring high ceilings, we are looking forward to creating a fantastic acoustic listening experience in this beautiful historical setting.
Please join us from 6:30PM – the listening concert begins at 7PM.
Between the performances during the evening, there will be a short break for refreshments alongside some handmade creations and artwork for sale.
